HOLINESS

HOLINESS According to the Strong’s exhaustive concordance Holy is mentioned in the bible 611times. The first place Holy is mentioned is in Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground . God called the place Holy because God was there, does this mean that any place God is should be regarded as holy? I believe so. Leviticus 10:1 Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord , which He had not commanded them. 2  So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord . 3  And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’” Nadab and Abihu offered profane fire in the presence of God, and God killed them. It is a very dangerous thing to behave anyhow ...

gods on earth....

In certain religions gods are referred to as superhuman beings or spirit worshipped as having power over nature or human fortunes, a supreme or celestial being. Psalm 82: 6 I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High. What does Jesus mean by you are gods? Does he mean we are gods here on earth, supernatural beings, having power and authority over the earth? I believe so. Man was made in the image of God and so God put man on the earth to rule as gods on the earth, Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground .” Gen 1:28. Man enjoyed close communion with God, they will take walks together in the cool of the garden and talk to each other, they enjoyed each other’s company because God loved them dearly and they returned that love by obeying God, their loving Father who had told them not to eat of the tree of knowledge of go...

BREAD OF LIFE

Last week I had been studying about the Bread of Life and so when I picked up my timetable to check what topic I would be teaching my children in Sunday school, you can imagine the joy I felt when I realised it would be the Bread of Life. God must really be interested in this topic I thought, and we had an amazing time with children on Sunday. Man is naturally a hungry being, always hungry for food. And even after eating a horse like we usually say when we are so hungry, give it a few more hours and we are hungry again. Exodus 25: 30 the showbread was set before God always. Jesus Christ represents the bread that is set before God continually, so if we have Jesus in us it means that our lives are continually set before God. John 6; 53 Jesus said except ye eat of the flesh of the son of man ye have no life in you, so if we do not eat this bread which symbolises Jesus then we have no life in us and because we have no life our lives are not set on the table before God always like th...

INHERITING THE EARTH

INHERITING THE EARTH The earth is the Lord 's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein . Psalm 24 1. God has a plan and purpose for the earth and part of that plan and purpose is that we his children will inherit the earth Romans 8:17. Who are those who will inherit the earth? Matthew 5: 5 ‘Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth’ . Psalm 7: 9 ‘but those who wait on the Lord shall inherit the earth’ . Therefore, those who will inherit the earth are those who wait on the Lord and are meek. Who are the meek? The oxford dictionary describes meekness as quiet, gentle and easily imposed on, submissive, not willing to argue or express opinions in a forceful way, enduring injury with patience and without resentment. Unaggressive, benevolent, kind, courteous, unassuming, a person willing to go along with whatever other people want to do. The biblical meaning of meekness refers to those who wait on the Lord. Those who seek God first and w...

KINGDOM GOALS

KINGDOM GOALS To be effective in our business or career we are often bombarded with the word GOALS and the goals you need to set each year to make sure that you’re the most effective you can be.   This requires continually assessing your role and productivity, planning what to do, implementing your plans, measuring your progress and then planning again - throughout your career or business. SMART goals which are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timebound is usually encouraged if we must be effective goal setters. A goal according to the oxford dictionary is described as an aim or desired result, the object of a person’s ambition or effort.   We set financial goals, family goals, health and diet goals, religious goals, but do we set spiritual goals or kingdom goals? What are Kingdom goals? my own definition of kingdom goals are goals that we set for the benefit of the kingdom of God just like we set goals at work and in our businesses, kingdom goals are ...

FOCUS ON JESUS

FOCUS ON JESUS Very recently, I remember God speaking to me about focus. I heard him say ‘Just focus on Jesus, don’t be distracted’. Then the story of Peter came to mind when Peter was walking on water while his eyes were focused on Jesus but the moment the storm started he took his eyes off Jesus and got distracted. The oxford English dictionary defines focus as the ‘centre of interest or activity’. If our eyes are single and focused on Jesus alone there is no limit to the things we will achieve and accomplish in life and for the kingdom of God. What a revelation that was for me. It meant that if I’m focused on Jesus it doesn’t matter what men say or think about me, it doesn’t matter what the economic situation is, it doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing, all that matters is how I can please God and do his will, my life will be driven by a totally different mindset, because my eyes are focused on Jesus. When our eyes are focused on Jesus it means I am watching careful...

A HIGHER CALLING

A HIGHER CALLING….. The Urban dictionary defines a ‘Higher Calling’ this way “to act in service to a higher i.e. more noble cause, a greater good. Often indicating an action undertaken at the behest of a Higher Power, such as a supreme being or deity, or some conception of justice and the morally right; motivation for personal growth and/or individual sacrifice for the greater good”. As Christians      God is calling each and every one of us higher. We all exist at different levels of faith but we must not remain on the same level we have always been.   It doesn’t matter if you are a Pastor, Evangelist etc, are you going higher with God? Are you being transformed from glory to glory? Are you looking and behaving more like Jesus? Philippians 3: 10- 14 10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the...
