BREAD OF LIFE

Last week I had been studying about the Bread of Life and so when I picked up my timetable to check what topic I would be teaching my children in Sunday school, you can imagine the joy I felt when I realised it would be the Bread of Life. God must really be interested in this topic I thought, and we had an amazing time with children on Sunday.

Man is naturally a hungry being, always hungry for food. And even after eating a horse like we usually say when we are so hungry, give it a few more hours and we are hungry again. Exodus 25: 30 the showbread was set before God always. Jesus Christ represents the bread that is set before God continually, so if we have Jesus in us it means that our lives are continually set before God. John 6; 53 Jesus said except ye eat of the flesh of the son of man ye have no life in you, so if we do not eat this bread which symbolises Jesus then we have no life in us and because we have no life our lives are not set on the table before God always like the table of showbread.

When we eat the bread of life we can never go hungry again, it is a life changing encounter that never lives you the same way. Anyone who has no life is dead which means a life without Jesus is death. The word of God is also the bread which we should eat daily. If we do not eat the word of God daily we will become ill nourished and will eventually die. The word of God is like food to our souls we should come prepared to eat from his table always .Studying the word daily will give us the strength required for each day, John 1:1-3 Jesus Christ is the WORD.

The Show bread is always in the Lords presence which tells us that God loves to fellowship with us, the table of the showbread is therefore a place of communion. The priest will usually put a new bread every Sabbath and eat the previous one in the most Holy place which is in the very presence of God this tells us that God loves to fellowship with man. A table is used for communion to share things together, children from families who dine together have been known to do better emotionally and academically because of they bond better and are united. Exodus 26:35 the lampstand was set across the table so the light from the lampstand will illuminate the table, when a life is totally surrendered to God his light will continually shine upon that life. The table of showbread is never empty, so as long as Jesus is in our lives, Gods eyes are constantly on us isn’t that awesome, that’s exciting to me.

John 6: 35 Jesus is the bread of life, if we have Jesus we will not die because we will not be spiritually drained or malnourished and God will take care of all our needs. It is only a matter of time[B1]  that the spiritually dead will die physically if they remain in that state, spiritual food is the only food that can make us strong and healthy. John 6:51 anyone who has Jesus will have eternal life, eternal life doesn’t only represent our life in heaven but eternal life starts from here on earth, doing that which God has called us to do.

I also encourage us to take the Holy Communion regularly, Math26: 26.  Jesus is the Holy bread only the Priests could eat the Holy bread. The Holy Communion is very powerful because we are eating the very life of Jesus anything that is in us that is not of God immediately disappears. The Holy Communion is scared to God and therefore should not be eaten unworthily.

No matter how beautiful, wealthy, eloquent, religious etc you are it is nothing if you don’t have the bread of life, if you do not have daily communion with the King of all kings because he is the only one that can truly satisfy.

The Yoke of the Ox...

The oxford dictionary describes a yoke as a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart they are to pull. It is used to join two oxen together so that there can be unity in what they are doing and they get the job done faster. The yoke is usually custom made and carved to fit the shape of the neck of the ox. When a farmer wants to train a younger ox, he does it with an older ox who understands what to do and is experienced, because the older ox has been allowed to grow to full maturity, so it is the best partner to be yoked with, it is reliable and it will teach the younger one how to pull, how to settle down under the yoke and how to be efficient. The younger ox is just supposed to submit to it and follow the older ox’s leading, but sometimes it is half in and half out of the yoke and not completely under it because it doesn’t want to be yoked (that is to submit and follow the older ox’s leading) and this leads to huge scars ...

WISE BUILDERS

The Oxford dictionary describes a building as a structure with a roof and walls, such as a house or factory and a temple as a building devoted to the worship of a god or gods. When Solomon built the temple of God, to show reverence to God the building was built in silence, the stones were very costly, carefully hewed and cut to dimension and made ready at the quarry before being transported to the temple site where they would fit perfectly together(1 Kings 5: 16-17; 6:7). The temple that Solomon built no longer exists, it was destroyed by the Babylonians because the children of Israel became rebellious to God and the presence of God no longer dwelt there. God is building a new temple, we are this new temple of God. The temple of God is a living house composed of living stones its building has an architect and that architect is God Ephesians 2: 20- 22 20  having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, 21...

Be Still and know that He is God

Reading the bible sometimes I often wondered why some people didn’t ask God for forgiveness after God passed a judgement on them, they just accepted it without any attempt to beg or anything. How will you feel if you scolded your child and told him he was grounded and he said very casually ok no problem, will you not feel insulted that the punishment didn’t even make him apologise? Take another instance if you worked in an organisation and the boss queried you and passed judgement on you because of your poor performance and you know that organisation has a very good reputation people hustle to work there, the pay is fantastic and the boss is known to be the most generous boss ever , he has a reputation of being extremely loving, caring, kind , generous ,and good, he likes excellence and hard work and you know you obviously didn’t do a great job, will you get offended with that boss and leave the job instead of humbling yourself and apologise promising such will never happen aga...
