KINGDOM GOALS

KINGDOM GOALS To be effective in our business or career we are often bombarded with the word GOALS and the goals you need to set each year to make sure that you’re the most effective you can be.   This requires continually assessing your role and productivity, planning what to do, implementing your plans, measuring your progress and then planning again - throughout your career or business. SMART goals which are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timebound is usually encouraged if we must be effective goal setters. A goal according to the oxford dictionary is described as an aim or desired result, the object of a person’s ambition or effort.   We set financial goals, family goals, health and diet goals, religious goals, but do we set spiritual goals or kingdom goals? What are Kingdom goals? my own definition of kingdom goals are goals that we set for the benefit of the kingdom of God just like we set goals at work and in our businesses, kingdom goals are ...

FOCUS ON JESUS

FOCUS ON JESUS Very recently, I remember God speaking to me about focus. I heard him say ‘Just focus on Jesus, don’t be distracted’. Then the story of Peter came to mind when Peter was walking on water while his eyes were focused on Jesus but the moment the storm started he took his eyes off Jesus and got distracted. The oxford English dictionary defines focus as the ‘centre of interest or activity’. If our eyes are single and focused on Jesus alone there is no limit to the things we will achieve and accomplish in life and for the kingdom of God. What a revelation that was for me. It meant that if I’m focused on Jesus it doesn’t matter what men say or think about me, it doesn’t matter what the economic situation is, it doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing, all that matters is how I can please God and do his will, my life will be driven by a totally different mindset, because my eyes are focused on Jesus. When our eyes are focused on Jesus it means I am watching careful...

A HIGHER CALLING

A HIGHER CALLING….. The Urban dictionary defines a ‘Higher Calling’ this way “to act in service to a higher i.e. more noble cause, a greater good. Often indicating an action undertaken at the behest of a Higher Power, such as a supreme being or deity, or some conception of justice and the morally right; motivation for personal growth and/or individual sacrifice for the greater good”. As Christians      God is calling each and every one of us higher. We all exist at different levels of faith but we must not remain on the same level we have always been.   It doesn’t matter if you are a Pastor, Evangelist etc, are you going higher with God? Are you being transformed from glory to glory? Are you looking and behaving more like Jesus? Philippians 3: 10- 14 10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the...

Let Go and Let God!

In my walk as a Christian God has taught me a lot and is still teaching me so much. I remember back in the days when I walked in the flesh and liked to get things done my way, it was a dreadful thought for me not to have control of myself, what I did, said or how I acted, I thought if I gave God full control of my life he could tell me to do something I didn't want to do, so the thought of losing control of my will was a dreadful one, but the devil had sold me a lie. Over the years I slowly begun to let go and started to understand more clearly the Scripture  Matthew 11:29-30 "T ake My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentlne and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."  indeed Gods burden is light, I have realised that Gods ways are far better than what I can ever come up with in my flesh.  To let go and let God it means you are no longer in control of your life, the decisions you make, the way you...

OLD, FRESH, EXCITING AND STILL FASHIONABLE

Growing up I used to find the word ‘Born Again’ Christian very strange,   as I grew older it became clearer but still a little strange, but as I grew much older and became a friend of God I realized it actually meant living a life of holiness separate from the world, but I also realized then that ‘Born Again’ Christians were not living holy lives, they actually love the sin and hate the sinner, rather than the opposite. The problem of our day is that many Christians do not understand what the word ‘holiness’ means, they are confused about the concept of holiness and do not even desire to be holy. Loyalty to God’s standard of holiness has shifted but God still desires us to pursue holiness, because it is old, fresh, still exciting and can never go out of fashion. To be holy is to be distinct, separate, in a class by oneself, It comes from an ancient word that meant, ‘to cut,’ or ‘to separate.’ It means to be cut above the rest that is outstanding, having a superior exc...

RELENTLESS

RELENTLESS It is easy as believers to get weary and tired especially in well doing. But the call to us believers is to be relentless in prayer, in faith, in fasting, and in well doing. It is also said that it is not about starting well but the most important thing is finishing well, and so even through all the hardship and adversity we may come across we just need to fasten our seat belts and go on the ride. Do we often wonder why God cannot just wipe off the enemy once and for all? It is just like what the children of Israel faced when other nations constantly hassled them, I am sure they also wondered why God didn’t just wipe away their enemies for good. But Romans 8: 28, 29 states that ‘ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren .’ So we may not...
