The Overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God

 

When we love others we give, we don't give only materials things, but we give our time, our service, sometimes our vulnerability. I am yet to see anyone who truly loves and didn't give. We give because love gives, likewise when we fall in love with God we give up old habits that don’t please God, we give Him our lives and our hearts completely. God loves us,


and with His love He gives everything, He is not cautious about His giving, He doesn’t think 'what if they never appreciate it,' 'what if they don’t realise how much I love them' what if they never give their lives to me' or 'what if they take me for granted' , yet He gives us His love so extravagantly , so overwhelmingly and so recklessly.

God gave His only begotten son- God didn’t spare His only begotten son whom he loved so much. He sent him to die a gruesome death just because he loves us so much, and he wanted to redeem us back to himself.

He gave us life: God gave man His breadth and breathed life into man.

He gave us His Holy Spirit- God wanted us to have the fullness of Him here on earth, so he gave us His Holy Spirit.

He gave us the Word

He gave us Victory

He gave us Blessings (Abraham’s blessing)

He gave us Eternal life

He gave us Salvation

He gives us Wisdom

He gives us Power to withstand the enemy

He gives us Strength to keep pushing to the end

He gives us Gifts and talents that we may fulfil our divine purpose.

He gives us Honor

He gives us Peace

He gives us Soundness of mind

He gives us His Mercy

He forgives us our Sins

He gives us Corrections when we are wrong

He gives us Joy

He gives us Boldness and courage

He gives us Knowledge

He gives us Fellowship with himself and others

He gives us Protection

He has given us the Kingdom of heaven

He gives us Edification

He gives us LOVE

God is the source of ALL the good in the world because every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father.  James 1:17

God will never leave us or forsake us.

If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. The Yoke of the Ox...

The oxford dictionary describes a yoke as a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart they are to pull. It is used to join two oxen together so that there can be unity in what they are doing and they get the job done faster. The yoke is usually custom made and carved to fit the shape of the neck of the ox. And Daniel Purposed in His heart....

  Daniel 1:8 ‘ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself .’ In the book of Daniel we see that Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego purposed in their heart that they would not defile themselves. Daniel’s eye was set on this goal, he was not going to eat the King’s delicacies or drink the King’s wine. Daniel knew that God did not want him to eat the king’s food and wine, he knew that it was against God’s rules. Daniel and his friends had their eyes set like a flint, they were determined to please God, they were self-disciplined, not careless, not wishy-washy Christians. Why would this King’s food and wine defile Daniel and his friends? you may ask, it is because the food was unacceptable foods that were forbidden by Jewish laws. REST IN GOD

  Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Hebrews 4:9-10 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. There is a rest for the people of God, but many haven’t entered this rest. Jesus Christ is asking us to come to His rest and to find rest for our souls. Are we troubled? anxious? or fearful? God is calling us into His rest. Are we encumbered by the concerns of this life? E.g school fees, house rent, bills to pay, a troubled marriage, etc. Jesus is saying do your best and leave the rest to me. Worrying too much about all these things will not make much of a difference, instead, we must live and walk by faith, this is the only condition to entering the rest of the Lord.
