GOD OUR HELPER

I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121: 1-2.

Who are we looking up to? are we putting our trust in man, money, qualifications, or power? Everything else will fail but God is the One who never fails. So, don’t depend on man, the money in your bank account, your qualification, your connection, because they will all fail you. Don’t put your trust in mortals like your spouse, your mum, your dad, your brothers, your sisters, your friends, your pastors, yes they may love you and want only the best for you but they are only mortals, they are not God so they will fail you. God is the only One who cannot fail and will never fail, He is the One who can help you when no one can, He is the One that shuts a door and no one else can open, and opens a door that no one else can shut. He is the Way Maker, the One who makes a way where there is no way, The Promise Keeper, The Miracle Worker. He is the Almighty, All knowing, All sufficient God. The one who says yes, and no one can say no, He is the One who delivers completely, He is The First and The Last, The Alpha and The Omega, The Beginning and The Ending, The Creator of heaven and earth. The One who has never lost a battle and can never lose one. He is the soon and coming King, The Great Jehovah, Ruler of everything, The One that commands, and it stands fast, The One that speaks and it is done, The Maker of heaven and earth, The Ancient of days.

He is the God of miracles and nothing is impossible with Him, He is the One that divided the Red sea so that the children of Israel walked on dry land. Nothing is too difficult for Him, His love is everlasting, His mercies are new every morning, Great is His faithfulness to us, He is the Supreme God, He is the Eternal one, The Uncreated Creator, The Sovereign God, He holds the stars in the sky, and All creation bows down to Him, the mountains bow down and the seas roar at the sound of His name,  He has the whole world in His hands, heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool, He is Bigger than the biggest, Mightier than the mightiest, Holier than the holiest, Wiser than the wisest, He is The Great I AM THAT I AM, He is Abba Father, He is the Great Provider, He is the Glory and the lifter up of our heads, He is our Shield and our Buckler, our Eternal Rock of ages, He is our Protector , our Banner and our Healer, He is our Testimony, The One who hides us under the shadow of His wings, He is our only secure place.

Who else has this type of credentials? NO ONE apart from the King of ALL Kings. In this Month of October and beyond, let your eyes be fixed on the only One who delivers us from All. LOOK UP TO THE ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, JEHOVAH.

The Yoke of the Ox...

The oxford dictionary describes a yoke as a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart they are to pull. It is used to join two oxen together so that there can be unity in what they are doing and they get the job done faster. The yoke is usually custom made and carved to fit the shape of the neck of the ox. When a farmer wants to train a younger ox, he does it with an older ox who understands what to do and is experienced, because the older ox has been allowed to grow to full maturity, so it is the best partner to be yoked with, it is reliable and it will teach the younger one how to pull, how to settle down under the yoke and how to be efficient. The younger ox is just supposed to submit to it and follow the older ox’s leading, but sometimes it is half in and half out of the yoke and not completely under it because it doesn’t want to be yoked (that is to submit and follow the older ox’s leading) and this leads to huge scars ...

And Daniel Purposed in His heart....

Daniel 1:8 ‘ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself .’ In the book of Daniel we see that Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego purposed in their heart that they would not defile themselves. Daniel’s eye was set on this goal, he was not going to eat the King’s delicacies or drink the King’s wine. Daniel knew that God did not want him to eat the king’s food and wine, he knew that it was against God’s rules. Daniel and his friends had their eyes set like a flint, they were determined to please God, they were self-disciplined, not careless, not wishy-washy Christians. Why would this King’s food and wine defile Daniel and his friends? you may ask, it is because the food was unacceptable foods that were forbidden by Jewish laws. Some of the Babylonian dishes consisted of meat from sa...

REST IN GOD

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Hebrews 4:9-10 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. There is a rest for the people of God, but many haven’t entered this rest. Jesus Christ is asking us to come to His rest and to find rest for our souls. Are we troubled? anxious? or fearful? God is calling us into His rest. Are we encumbered by the concerns of this life? E.g school fees, house rent, bills to pay, a troubled marriage, etc. Jesus is saying do your best and leave the rest to me. Worrying too much about all these things will not make much of a difference, instead, we must live and walk by faith, this is the only condition to entering the rest of the Lord. Knowing without a shadow of a doubt that of a t...
