DOING GOOD...

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Jesus Christ is still in the business of doing good and healing all who are oppressed by the devil.   Many people consider being sick as being bed ridden on the hospital bed or being weak in the body and not being able to function well or being mentally sick like being visibly mad. The truth is many are not visibly physically sick or visibly mentally sick but are sick because the devil has oppressed them so much they don’t even know how sick they are, and Jesus came to heal all those who are oppressed by the devil and is still doing so. John 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of ( MSG). The devil comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, so the devil is on a mission he has a clear plan bu

In God's Time

We have come to the last month of the year and we give all Glory to God for bringing us this far. If you are like me and you had goals at the beginning of the year that you have not yet accomplished and it looks like another year is ending and you still haven’t ticked it off your checklist do not be discouraged or dismayed because at God’s time those things will be accomplished if we don’t get weary but continue to pray. Philippians 4; 6 be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. Just like Moses we may know that God has called us for a specific purpose but wonder how and when it will come to full manifestation. Moses knew that he was called to rescue the Israelites, he expected his countrymen to understand that God was granting them freedom through him (assuming that they would accept him) but they did not understand Acts 7: 25 (AMP). He knew he was called to rescue Israel even though at that time t

GIVING GOD ALL THE GLORY

Imagine you are the head of an organisation and one of the employees comes to you to beg you for a favour, he needs to pay his child’s school fees but cannot afford it at the moment. You feel compassion for him and you offer to bear the full cost of the fees for free. He is so over joyed he thanks you profusely, you are also happy because you are very glad you were able to solve the employee’s problem. One day you over hear a conversation going on between two people outside, it was the employee whose child’s school fees you paid and someone else and you hear the employee say ‘Thank God I have savings oh, imagine if I didn’t, how would I have paid my child’s school fees? It’s good to save oh even though it’s very tough to save in this Nigeria’. You will probably be shocked and disappointed to hear that, next time you may not help him because he is obviously a liar. This is how we are many times, when we fail to give God the glory for the things which he has given to us and done for

Washing Each Other's Feet

Reading through the Holy Bible it was common for servants to wash the feet of guests, maybe because they had travelled long distances and their feet usually got dirty on the way, or maybe because they used to wear mostly sandals in those days, I’m not really sure why this was the case. 1 Sam 25; 41 washing the feet of others was a servant task. When Mary washed Jesus feet and anointed it, it was a show of her love and deep gratitude to Jesus for all he had done for her and her family John 12: 1-8. When Jesus washed his disciple’s feet it was a show of his humility, service and love, the type that we are enjoined to emulate as Christians here on earth John 13: 1-17. To wash someone’s feet requires pretty close personal contact, when I know my feet are very dirty and I’m having a pedicure I often feel pity for the poor pedicurist but I guess because it’s the nature of their job I’m ok with it, if it was a friend or acquaintance doing the same pedicure for me I probably would feel

MY SAMARIA MOMENT....

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves . Phil 2:3. From the beginning of this year this verse has stuck with me and has constantly been on my mind. When this verse came alive for me I realised that Jesus Christ died not only for me on the cross of Calvary but he died for everyone (I mean I already knew this fact but it dawned on me in a clearer way) so if this is so, how are my better than the other person when Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for them too?. Even that person that has just one eye or one leg or some kind of deformity, I am not better than them because they were all made in the image of God, and even if I am saved and the other person is not saved it does not mean that I am better than the person because it is only by God’s grace that he has allowed me to know the truth. It’s not because of anything that I have done, or I am doing, it’s solely by His Grace, Hallelujah! Even as Paul said i

Paid in Full

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins so you don’t have to remain a slave to sin. Jesus didn’t die for only a few people, he died for all of us, Jesus doesn’t love just a few people, he loves all of us. But do we know that Jesus loves us so much he died on the cross a shameful death just because he wanted us to live a life free from sin, a life filled with joy, peace, favour and fulfilment and everything that the world cannot offer?. People keep looking for all these things in the world but the world can never offer them these because it is incapable of providing them, it can only provide a copy but not the real thing even though it is wrapped up nicely like it is the real thing it really isn’t. This is why many people are sad , and   mental health issues is on the increase, some are killing themselves , some act like they have it all together   but they really don’t, some who have been in Christ are not exempt. Christians who know Jesus and have even walked with him are fa

The Grain of Wheat 2

John 12: 24- 25 ‘Listen carefully unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground dead to the world it is never anymore than a grain of wheat, but if it is buried it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. But if you let it go, reckless in your love you’ll have it forever real and eternal.’ MSG He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life John 12: 25 NKJV. In this verse Jesus said he who loves his life will lose it and he who hates his life will keep it forever. How do we hate our lives? Does it mean we should now hate ourselves and not love ourselves any longer? Jesus was talking about his impending crucifixion and letting his disciples understand that just as he is sacrificing his life for the sins of the world, they would also have to go through same. What is a sacrifice? It is an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to a deity. If you sacrifice something

The Grain of Wheat

‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone but if it dies it produces much grain. John 12:24NKJV. When Jesus made this statement he was letting his disciples know that the time for his death had come, and that his death would lead to another chapter, his glorification which will reproduce many others like himself. Jesus did not live a selfish life because he did not refuse to go to the cross but he lived a sacrificial life by going to the cross so that he could achieve his eternal purpose. Jesus bore the cross and died because of you and I and through his death we have been redeemed by his blood. It is by this blood that we now have access to the Father, Jesus rose up on the third day and is alive forever more. When we die to our own will we die with Jesus and resurrect with Jesus Christ a new life that is fully controlled by the Holy Spirit. We become new creatures and only then do we truly became who God has called u

WISE BUILDERS 2

What would you do if you spent a lot of time, money and dedication in building a magnificent edifice, a place you call your home then you hire someone to construct a special area in a section of the house but he uses fake or substandard products maybe an anti mould chemical around that section he is building and all over the house, but because it was fake it destroyed all the walls and instead of preventing moulds it attracted mould everywhere, how would you feel? 1 Corinthians 3:17 states that if anyone does hurt to Gods temple by corrupting it with wrong doctrines or destroys it, God will hurt him too. It is extremely dangerous to be a false prophet, the bible says that God will bring hurt to him to the corruption of death and destroy him for God’s temple we the church collectively and individually are sacred to him.   “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25  and the rain descended, the f

WISE BUILDERS

The Oxford dictionary describes a building as a structure with a roof and walls, such as a house or factory and a temple as a building devoted to the worship of a god or gods. When Solomon built the temple of God, to show reverence to God the building was built in silence, the stones were very costly, carefully hewed and cut to dimension and made ready at the quarry before being transported to the temple site where they would fit perfectly together(1 Kings 5: 16-17; 6:7). The temple that Solomon built no longer exists, it was destroyed by the Babylonians because the children of Israel became rebellious to God and the presence of God no longer dwelt there. God is building a new temple, we are this new temple of God. The temple of God is a living house composed of living stones its building has an architect and that architect is God Ephesians 2: 20- 22 20  having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, 21  in
