DOING GOOD...


Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Jesus Christ is still in the business of doing good and healing all who are oppressed by the devil.  Many people consider being sick as being bed ridden on the hospital bed or being weak in the body and not being able to function well or being mentally sick like being visibly mad. The truth is many are not visibly physically sick or visibly mentally sick but are sick because the devil has oppressed them so much they don’t even know how sick they are, and Jesus came to heal all those who are oppressed by the devil and is still doing so.

John 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of (MSG). The devil comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, so the devil is on a mission he has a clear plan but we are so ignorant of the wiles of the devil that we just live our lives without a care about what the devil has planned out for us, meanwhile the devil is so serious about his mission. He makes us feel like we are doing just fine and that there is absolutely nothing to worry about, but my dear brothers and sisters a life without Jesus is not doing just fine it is a life under constant oppression by the devil. Remember the devils mission is to steal, to kill, and to destroy but Jesus came to give us life and to give us more abundantly. Which would you rather choose life or death?

Galatians 5; 19-21 The works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like of which I tell you before as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  We either choose life or we choose death, we either choose to remain sick or we choose to be healed forever, we either choose to be in chains or we choose to be free from bondage, we choose to be in the kingdom of darkness or in the kingdom of light. The Christmas season is a great season to reflect on this and make a choice.

This Christmas season is also a season to do good deeds, I remember the story of Cornelius in the bible who was remembered not only for his dedication and commitment to God but also for his alms giving (Acts 10; 1-4,31) and Tabitha who was raised from the dead because she was well known for her good works and alms giving (Acts 9: 36-42). As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior let us not downplay the importance of alms giving in God’s response to Cornelius and Tabitha, let us remember to share the love of Jesus by giving to the poor and needy around us, so that your alms giving and good deeds may be remembered by God. Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

WISE BUILDERS

The Oxford dictionary describes a building as a structure with a roof and walls, such as a house or factory and a temple as a building devoted to the worship of a god or gods. When Solomon built the temple of God, to show reverence to God the building was built in silence, the stones were very costly, carefully hewed and cut to dimension and made ready at the quarry before being transported to the temple site where they would fit perfectly together(1 Kings 5: 16-17; 6:7). The temple that Solomon built no longer exists, it was destroyed by the Babylonians because the children of Israel became rebellious to God and the presence of God no longer dwelt there. God is building a new temple, we are this new temple of God. Be Still and know that He is God

Reading the bible sometimes I often wondered why some people didn’t ask God for forgiveness after God passed a judgement on them, they just accepted it without any attempt to beg or anything. How will you feel if you scolded your child and told him he was grounded and he said very casually ok no problem, will you not feel insulted that the punishment didn’t even make him apologise? Take another instance if you worked in an organisation and the boss queried you and passed judgement on you because of your poor performance and you know that organisation has a very good reputation people hustle to work there, the pay is fantastic and the boss is known to be the most generous boss ever , he has a reputation of being extremely loving, caring, kind , generous ,and good, he likes excellence and hard work and you know you obviously didn’t do a great job, will you get offended with that boss and leave the job instead of humbling yourself and apologise promising such will never happen aga...
