The Lord of Hosts!

According to Mariam Webster’s dictionary Hosts can be defined as a great number or a multitude. In the bible, hosts and armies are used interchangeably.  For example, A host of angels or an army of angels.

Psalm 103:21 Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! The host of angels do His pleasure, they are stationed to do God's will all the time and they are mandated to do what pleases God.

Psalm 148

Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD from the heavens!

Praise him from the skies!

Praise him, all his angels!

Praise him, all the armies of heaven!

Praise him, sun and moon!

Praise him, all you twinkling stars!

Praise him, skies above!

Praise him, vapors high above the clouds!

Let every created thing give praise to the LORD,

for he issued his command, and they came into being.

He set them in place forever and ever.

His decree will never be revoked.

Praise the LORD from the earth,

you creatures of the ocean depths,

fire and hail, snow and clouds,

wind and weather that obey him,

mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars,

wild animals and all livestock,

small scurrying animals and birds,

kings of the earth and all people,

rulers and judges of the earth,

young men and young women,

old men and children.

Let them all praise the name of the LORD.

For his name is very great;

his glory towers over the earth and heaven!

He has made his people strong,

honoring his faithful ones—

the people of Israel who are close to him.

Praise the LORD!

Everything in creation was designed to Praise God. If this is so then Let all that we are praise God, let all our internal organs and body parts praise God, let our brains praise God, let our money praise God, let our day praise God, let our night praise God, let our homes praise God, let our businesses praise God, let all that concerns us praise God.

2 Samuel 5: 10 ‘So David went on and became great, and the Lord of Hosts was with Him” The Lord of Hosts was with David and so He became very great. If the Lord of Hosts is with you it means the moon, the stars, the host of angels, all the heavenly hosts and everything in creation are working together to help you accomplish all that God has called you to accomplish. If the Lord of Hosts is with you, you do not need to worship the stars, the moon, and the heavenly hosts because they are all working for you. For example, if you are in your Dad’s house do you worship your Dad’s servants? The answer is No because your Dad’s servants are your servants too, they are working for you. If the Lord of Hosts is with you, there is no limit to what you can accomplish, because He is the commander of the heavenly hosts and all creation.

The reverse is the case if the Lord of Hosts is not with you, everything in creation will work against you. Is the Lord of Hosts with you? Satan is referred to as the Prince of the Power of the Air, the Spirit that works in the sons of disobedience Ephesians 2:2. There is a Power in the Air that makes us live a life of sin and there is no way we can overcome it if the Lord of Hosts is not with us. To overcome this power, we need to come up higher, James 4: 8 ‘Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world’

Refuse to remain at the same low level, the level where Satan plays with our lives and destinies. We must be intentional about going higher, by setting out time to pray, studying the Word, meditating on it, praising, worshiping, and spending quality time with God. A place where just like all of creation we praise Him with our lives. We have to come up higher to the secret place where we can get directions from God, be strengthened, be empowered, be transformed, be renewed, breakthrough, get ideas, get inspiration, get information, gain knowledge and understanding, that will help us reach our God-ordained destination.

  1. Psa 148 has never been this revealing to me. Grateful for this revelation and the motivation to be more intentional in my walk with God.

The Yoke of the Ox...

The oxford dictionary describes a yoke as a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart they are to pull. It is used to join two oxen together so that there can be unity in what they are doing and they get the job done faster. The yoke is usually custom made and carved to fit the shape of the neck of the ox. When a farmer wants to train a younger ox, he does it with an older ox who understands what to do and is experienced, because the older ox has been allowed to grow to full maturity, so it is the best partner to be yoked with, it is reliable and it will teach the younger one how to pull, how to settle down under the yoke and how to be efficient. The younger ox is just supposed to submit to it and follow the older ox’s leading, but sometimes it is half in and half out of the yoke and not completely under it because it doesn’t want to be yoked (that is to submit and follow the older ox’s leading) and this leads to huge scars ...

WISE BUILDERS

The Oxford dictionary describes a building as a structure with a roof and walls, such as a house or factory and a temple as a building devoted to the worship of a god or gods. When Solomon built the temple of God, to show reverence to God the building was built in silence, the stones were very costly, carefully hewed and cut to dimension and made ready at the quarry before being transported to the temple site where they would fit perfectly together(1 Kings 5: 16-17; 6:7). The temple that Solomon built no longer exists, it was destroyed by the Babylonians because the children of Israel became rebellious to God and the presence of God no longer dwelt there. God is building a new temple, we are this new temple of God. The temple of God is a living house composed of living stones its building has an architect and that architect is God Ephesians 2: 20- 22 20  having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, 21...

Be Still and know that He is God

Reading the bible sometimes I often wondered why some people didn’t ask God for forgiveness after God passed a judgement on them, they just accepted it without any attempt to beg or anything. How will you feel if you scolded your child and told him he was grounded and he said very casually ok no problem, will you not feel insulted that the punishment didn’t even make him apologise? Take another instance if you worked in an organisation and the boss queried you and passed judgement on you because of your poor performance and you know that organisation has a very good reputation people hustle to work there, the pay is fantastic and the boss is known to be the most generous boss ever , he has a reputation of being extremely loving, caring, kind , generous ,and good, he likes excellence and hard work and you know you obviously didn’t do a great job, will you get offended with that boss and leave the job instead of humbling yourself and apologise promising such will never happen aga...
