The Power in the Blood of Jesus.....

Have you ever been at the beach, scribbled something on the sand and then the waves from the sea comes ashore, wipes off completely what had been written and there is no sign of it at all? This is exactly what happens when our sins have been washed away in the blood of Jesus. There is no trace, no memory, it is completely washed away by the precious blood of Jesus.

There is so much power in the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus washes away our sins and makes us clean, as white as snow. There is no remembrance of past sins when our sins have been washed by the blood of Jesus. The blood sets us free from the curse, which is caused by sin, so that we might receive the blessings of Abraham. It doesn’t matter how bad the sin is there is hope because God loves us so much and his mercies are new every morning. God is always willing to forgive us “Come now, let us reason together says the Lord though your sins are like scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they are like crimson they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land”.  The moment you make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life you are redeemed from the curse. The curse is death, sin, sickness, disease, poverty, lack, depression etc.
Death is the curse and the penalty for sin. So every time we sin, the penalty is death. Even if physical death does not happen immediately it opens up a door for death to occur in other areas of our lives, death in our bodies, death in our businesses, death in our marriages, death in our finances, death in its various forms and then physical death. To atone for sin blood must be shed because the life is in the blood, so someone who is without sin must bear the punishment in place of the person who is forgiven. ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul’. Leviticus 17:11 (KJV) without shedding of the blood there is no forgiveness. Heb 9:22
In the old testament the high priest offered the blood of animals, but our high priest Jesus Christ gave his own life as a sacrifice for sin with his own blood, he could pay the ultimate penalty for our sin because he was without sin. He entered the most holy place once and for all and obtained eternal redemption.  If the blood of goats and bulls could cleanse the body, how much more will the sacred blood of the Messiah thoroughly cleanse our consciences from dead works Heb 9: 12-14 The blood of Jesus makes us whole, the blood of Jesus makes us what God has created us to be, the very life of God flows in us through the blood of Jesus there is so much power in the blood of Jesus. And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as “temporary residents.” For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 1 Peter 1: 17-19 God paid a high price for our redemption so we should not waste it.
God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.  But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. To walk in the light does not mean that we have no sin, but we continually cleanse ourselves by the blood, but this does not mean we are to walk in darkness because if we are walking in darkness then we don’t have fellowship with God.
I once heard the late Reinhard Bonnke say an atheist told him there is no power in the blood of Jesus because the blood of Jesus has been available on the earth for 2000 years but the world is worse than it was 2000 years ago so the blood of Jesus has not made the world become better but worse . Reinard Bonkee then responded to the atheist saying “there is still soap in this world but yet many people are still dirty”, he said “let me explain how soap works in case you don’t know. If I am dirty and I stand next to a piece of soap I will not automatically become clean, even if I worked in a soap factory I will not be automatically clean. If you want to know what soap can do then you need to reach the soap take it and apply it, and so it is with the blood of Jesus, it is not enough to know it, it is not enough to sing about it, it is not enough to preach about it , but you have to reach it, apply it to your sinful life and when you do, something will happen to you that has already happened to billions of people across the world, then you will say there is power in the blood of Jesus. I enjoin you to make use of the power of the blood of Jesus that is available to you and your life will never remain the same.

The Yoke of the Ox...

The oxford dictionary describes a yoke as a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart they are to pull. It is used to join two oxen together so that there can be unity in what they are doing and they get the job done faster. The yoke is usually custom made and carved to fit the shape of the neck of the ox. When a farmer wants to train a younger ox, he does it with an older ox who understands what to do and is experienced, because the older ox has been allowed to grow to full maturity, so it is the best partner to be yoked with, it is reliable and it will teach the younger one how to pull, how to settle down under the yoke and how to be efficient. The younger ox is just supposed to submit to it and follow the older ox’s leading, but sometimes it is half in and half out of the yoke and not completely under it because it doesn’t want to be yoked (that is to submit and follow the older ox’s leading) and this leads to huge scars ...

And Daniel Purposed in His heart....

Daniel 1:8 ‘ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself .’ In the book of Daniel we see that Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego purposed in their heart that they would not defile themselves. Daniel’s eye was set on this goal, he was not going to eat the King’s delicacies or drink the King’s wine. Daniel knew that God did not want him to eat the king’s food and wine, he knew that it was against God’s rules. Daniel and his friends had their eyes set like a flint, they were determined to please God, they were self-disciplined, not careless, not wishy-washy Christians. Why would this King’s food and wine defile Daniel and his friends? you may ask, it is because the food was unacceptable foods that were forbidden by Jewish laws. Some of the Babylonian dishes consisted of meat from sa...

REST IN GOD

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Hebrews 4:9-10 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. There is a rest for the people of God, but many haven’t entered this rest. Jesus Christ is asking us to come to His rest and to find rest for our souls. Are we troubled? anxious? or fearful? God is calling us into His rest. Are we encumbered by the concerns of this life? E.g school fees, house rent, bills to pay, a troubled marriage, etc. Jesus is saying do your best and leave the rest to me. Worrying too much about all these things will not make much of a difference, instead, we must live and walk by faith, this is the only condition to entering the rest of the Lord. Knowing without a shadow of a doubt that of a t...
